Iowa jail telephone providers and rates by county, early 2021
In early 2021, the Iowa Utilities Board approved new rates for phone calls home from Iowa jails. This table lists those rates — and for counties served by companies that did not submit rates for approval to the Iowa Utilities Board — we did other research to fill in the gaps.
To benefit other researchers, we also added the most recently available average daily population for each facility (from the 2019 annual reports filed by the companies to the FCC, from their tariffs, or from the 2013 Census of Jails) and whether, as of March 25, 2021 the Iowa Utilities Board has approved a tariff for that facility.
